Chōshi

Chōshi (銚子市, Chōshi-shi ) is a city (市, shi ) of the Préfecture of Chiba, with the Japan. The city was founded on February 11th 1933. Population of the east city of 75.454 inhabitants for a surface of 83,87 km ² (2006).

History

The peninsula of Chōshi has been inhabited since the Stone Age is for approximately 23.000 years.

In 1933, the towns of Motochōshi and Nishichōshi are incorporated in Chōshi.

Others

The municipal symbols are the CAMELIA and the Sardine.

Chōshi shelters the temple Iinuma Kannon and the sanctuary Kawaguchi, both benches in the neighborhoods of the 8th century.

In summer, the Minato festival takes place with Chōshi.
