Chöying Dorje

the 10th Karmapa, Chöying Dorje (1604 - 1674)

Chöying Dorje was born in Khaytri Tang in the province from Golok in the extreme North-East from the Tibet in the Amdo. It is known as that it made 7 pas towards each cardinal direction to its birth. At the 6 years age, it could paint better than any of its Masters, and he was a gifted sculptor.

The religious stones of Mani can be also found in certain hearths Naxi, especially among the sub-group Mosuo.
