Châteaubernard is a common French, located in the department of the Charente and the area Poitou-Charentes.

Geography

History

Vestiges of Gallo-Roman constructions close to the site of the stone raised with ditches filled at the 2nd century show the seniority of the occupation.

March 7th, 1787 the representatives of Châteaubernard and Angles at the preliminary assembly of the General states which is held with the chapter house of Récollets de Cogac are the lawyer Isaac Chauvin, J.Blais and J.Bienassis

In 1791 it is noted to have 250 inhabitants.

  • Commanderie de Châteaubernard, commandery of Templiers of the 12th century with Midsummer's Day vault of the 15th century. Inside two capitals would be 12th century.
