Châbons

Châbons is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps.

It belongs to the family De Virieu. It was restored by Purple-the-Duke at the 19th century. Lamartine, family friend, remained there and there wrote one of its poems the small valley .

JEAN GINET (1881-1942)

Among the personalities châbonnaise, one can quote Jean Ginet, elected under the socialist label radical, appointed Popular front in 1936. To the Parliament it will belong to the Committee on Agriculture and in the commission of Alsace-Lorraine.Maire since 1919, Jean Ginet dies in full meeting of the municipal council on March 27th, 1942 at the 61 years age.
