Ceza

Ceza (djeza decides), of its true name Bilgin Özçalkan , is a Rappeur Turkish born in 1977 with Üsküdar (Istanbul).

Beginnings

Ceza discovered the rap during its primary education, by borrowing audio cassettes from his/her friends. Its first pseudonym was Fatalrhymer , which it changed following its first participations in Freestyle evenings, where its competitors called it " Cezamiz" (in Turkish: “our punishment”)

Ceza took part in several projects, in particular in 1998 when it created with Dr. Fuchs the group Nefret.

The Nefret group

Nefret takes part in compilation “Yeralti Operasyonu” with other rappeurs Turkish. Nefret is the group more noticed compilation, which carries out them to sign at Hammer Müzik. Their first album is entitled “Meclis-i Ala Istanbul”. A clip is turned for the song “Istanbul” and is diffused by local and international chains. They thus take part quite naturally in several festivals, like the H2000 festival, the festival of dance J&B and the European festival of music. The album “Meclis-i Ala Istanbul” was put on sale simultaneously in Turkey and Germany, which allowed a big number of sales in little time.

“Anahtar”, the second album of the group, was recorded in the studio DIGITAL Mix in July 2001 in Istanbul. One finds there Erci E group Cartel, Bektaş which took part in the album of RZA, Kader K of the group Megalomaniax, Fresh B which was made known with the album “Gerçek Kal” and finally DJ Rocky and DJ Ness, two DJs originating in Germany.

In spite of a poor promotion of the album, due at the beginning for the military service of Dr. Fuchs and to the Turkish economic crisis of 2001, the album is sold well and become the album of Turkish group of rap more sold abroad and in Turkey.

Career solo

In 2001, Ceza makes appearances in the album “Ihtiyar Heyeti” of Sagopa Kajmer. (In the titles: 2001, Terör Damlalari, Saltanatin hakimler, 1 dakika).

The departure of Dr. Fuchs for the military service (15 month in Turkey) made it possible Ceza to accelerate the creation of its first album solo. The album, named “Med Cezir”, will be produced by DJ Mic Check of Silahsiz Kuvvet and recorded in the studios Kuvvet Mira and DIGITAL Mix.

After a great number of concerts in Turkey, it is in March 2002 that it makes its first concert abroad. A concert in Sweden enables him to record thereafter a title with the group Fjarde Varlden. The title “Tamam” leaves into individual and fact part of a LP of the group.

Album Med Cezir

In August 2002, Ceza leaves the album “Med Cezir”. It is with this album that it is really médiatisé, with reports and interviews in various magazines and of the participations in televised programs. The clip of the song “Med Cezir” is carried out this time by a professional named Murad Küçük, which before produced the clips of singers known such as Levent Yüksel and Mirkelam.

Thus it (Re) takes part in many festivals like H2000, Rock' N Coke Istanbul and gives a series in concerts abroad (Germany, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium…).

Rapstar album

In August 2004, it leaves “Rapstar”, its second album solo. Always at Hammer Müzik and produced by Dj Mic Check. Many artists like Ayben (his/her sister), Fjarde Varlden, Dr. Fuchs, Sagopa Kajmer, Sahtiyan and Fuat take part in the composition of the album and its promotion. 150.000 specimens will be vendus.
In 2005, Ceza plays its own part in the film “Istanbul Hatirasi: Köprüyü Geçmek”, produced by Fatih Akın. Ceza interprets there also its title “Holocaust”.

During the preparation of its third album solo, Ceza makes featurings with Candan Erçetin, Mercan Erçetin and Burcu Güneş.

Maximum-individual Feyz Al

Maximum-individual named “Feyz Al” leaves in May 2006, always at Hammer Müzik. One finds there a featuring with Killa Hakan.

Album Yerli Plaka

“Yerli Plaka”, the third album solo of Ceza , leaves on August 29th, 2006. It counts many collaborations, whether it is of Turkey or abroad: Tech N9ne, Samy Deluxe, Afrob, Eko Fresh, Killa Hakan, Sezen Aksu, Ayben, Sahtiyan, Yener, Alaturka Mavzer, Mihenk Tası, Emre.
