Certification of conformity produced

The Certification of conformity produced (CPC) was created by the law of December 30th, 1988 and application by the decree of September 25th, 1990. With the implementation of the law of agricultural orientation, the Certification of Conformity Produced became since January 1st, 2007, a step with whole share: the Step of Certification of Conformity Produced (CPC).

The Compliance certificate is issued with an Operator having constituted a schedule of conditions which respects at the same time:

  • requirements posed by the rules of production, transformation and conditioning of the product or the family of products definite

  • At least two recommendations relating to the presentation for the consumer of the certified characteristics of the product or the family of products chosen among those established. This corresponds to the Certified Characteristics.

This schedule of conditions is controlled by a third Certification body, accredited according to the standard INTO 45011. (The certification body intervening in the field of the CPC is gathered within Association CEPRAL).

The whole of these requirements and recommendations, like their minimal conditions of control, are elaborate in dialog with the interested professional organizations, of the certification body and the qualified personalities. They are approved by decree of the ministers in charge for agriculture and consumption.

The step of validated certification is the subject of a declaration near the minister in charge for agriculture. The list of recorded certifications is the publication object to the Journal officiel de la R3epublique fran1caise.
Products profiting from a label of origin, a red label or mention " wine of pays" cannot be the subject of a Certification of Conformity.

Since 1994, to be able, in addition to certification, to communicate on the origin, the product must be elaborate under a schedule of conditions of protected Geographical ascription validated by the public authorities.

The mark of certification

Contrary to the Red Label, there does not exist official logo to identify the certified products CPC, but only one private logo.

Since 2002, it is the logo " Criteria Certifiés" Quality; who is used. It is resulting from the bringing together of 2 private logos:

  • " Asset certified qualité" , created and deposited by the CEPRAL
  • " Criterion certifié" quality; , created and deposited by INTERBEV (Inter-profession of the cattle and the meats).

In the new legislation, the possibility for certification of conformity of product of being identified by a logo approved by the ministers in charge for agriculture and consumption is clearly stated. Consequently, it is possible that the logo used until at the time is brought to evolve/move accordingly.
