Ceramology
The ceramology is a discipline which attempts to study the objects in Céramique (Poterie, brick, Tuile, etc). It includes/understands the study of the techniques of manufacture (shaping, treatment of surfaces, cooking), their forms (typology), and that of the decorative reasons, which can be stamped, incised, engraved, applied or painted on the artefacts.
As an additional science with the Archeology, it also aims at founding the bases of the dating of ceramics, in order to establish a relative chronology of it. It contributes, through the analysis of materials used to constitute the paste, like the Argile and the grease-remover, to define the geographic origin of ceramics, and therefore, the extent of the cultural surfaces and the economic currents which existed formerly.
