Cerak Vinogradi

Cerak Vinogradi , in Serb Cyrillic ЦеракВиногради, is a district of Belgrade, the capital of the Serbia. It is located in the municipality of Čukarica. In 2002, it counted: 13091 inhabitants.

Localization

Cerak Vinogradi is surrounded by the districts of Cerak, Cerak 2 and Filmski Grad in north, by those of Rakovica and Skojevsko Naselje in the east, by that of Vidikovac in the south and by Ibarska magistrala (the highway of the Ibar) in the west. The street Pilota Mihajla Petrovića separates Cerak Vinogradi and Vidikovac and is also used of limit between the municipalities of Čukarica and Rakovica.

History

The sector occupied by the current district was drawn and planned at the end of the years 1970 and it constitutes, in the capital, the first example of contemporary architecture. Formerly regarded as the most modern district and most beautiful of Belgrade, Cerak Vinogradi lived the degradation of the social conditions and economic remainder of the country, causing a degradation of maintenance and environment.

Characteristics

Cerak Vinogradi is a residential district, with trade and, especially, parks and many green areas. Thus all the streets are named according to gasolines of trees (street of the Lime, street of Cedar etc). The streets are occupied by buildings from three to six floors.

Transport

Cerak Vinogradi is located at a few minutes of the forest park of Košutnjak, at a few minutes in the bus of the shopping area of Banovo Brdo, of the Save and the island of Ada Ciganlija. It is connected to the remainder of the city by the lines of bus 23,37,50,52,53 and 56.
