Cerak

Cerak , in Serb Cyrillic Церак, is a district of Belgrade, the capital of the Serbia. It is located in the municipality of Čukarica. In 2002, it counted: 12591 inhabitants.

Characteristics

Cerak is the Eastern part of the district of Žarkovo. It is located at the east of the street Trgovačka and it is delimited by Žarkovo (in north), Košutnjak and Filmski Grad (in the east), by Cerak Vinogradi (in the south) and by Bele Vode (in the west).

The main street of this district is the street Jablanička, from which start from many narrower residential streets. Cerak is presented in the form of a mixture of family small houses on one or two floors and residential buildings to five or six stages. On the other hand, the most recent constructions, along Ibarska magistrala, take the form of blocks of buildings.

Cerak, like Cerak Vinogradi, is planted decorative trees and shrubs; as the motor vehicle traffic is rather moderate there, that made of the district a sector rather pleasant to live.

The Western part of the district, along the street Trgovačka (streets Bitoljska, Petefijeva, Partizanske etc) is sometimes called Stari Cerak ( old Cerak ).

Cerak is served by several lines of bus (52,56,51).

Cerak II

The southern part of Cerak was officially baptized Cerak II in 1985 - 1987. But in fact, this district, around the streets Vinogradski Venac and Cerski Venac , is presented by its architecture like a prolongation of Cerak Vinogradi. As the remainder of Cerak Vinogradi, it is a residential zone, delimited by the street Jablanička (and the district of Cerak) in north, by the Ibarska magistrala (the highway of the Ibar) with the west and the district of Vidikovac (located in the municipality of Rakovica at the south.
