Century of Catalan Gold

At the 15th century, the Couronne of Aragon (made up of the Comté of Barcelona, Royaume of Valence and Royaume of Aragon itself) shines of all its glare, and its floret is the Royaume of Valence, which offers a to him literary Siècle of gold, to such sign that it is not erroneous to also call this period:

Century of Valencian Gold

After a few consecutive years of instability to a successional crisis, the country launches out in an aggressive foreign policy with the advent of a dynasty Castilian resulting from the Compromis of Caspe (Casp) (1412) and the reign of Alphonse Magnanime (1416-1458) which conquers the Royaume of Naples. But this dash is somewhat opposed under his/her brother and successor Jean II (1458-1479), which, for dynastic questions, must be opposed to his/her own son, Charles de Viana, and is also confronted with a civil war in strict Catalonia. However these problems do not have any harmful repercussion with Valence, quite to the contrary, because the capital inhabitant of Barcelona which flees the insecurity of the comtale city comes to be reinvested more in the south. All is perfect, of course - threat of food shortage, endemic plague, denominational crises on the occasion, but nothing really which one does not know under other skies; nothing in any case which harms the blossoming of this Century of Gold of the Catalan letters, too ignored, which produced writers whose works would not strip with the universal Firmament of the Letters:

to only quote largest. This century, with the hinge between the Middle Ages and Rebirth, is vivified by its close connections with the Italians: Alphonse V Magnanime settles in Naples where it holds a brilliant court until his death in 1458. His/her son Ferdinand succeeds to him Naples with the same glare.
