Thanks to its policy of alliances, he managed to take the control of his neighbors of the east (Montaner and Bigorre) and to forge a solid alliance with his neighbor of the south, Aragon.
On the other hand, it had to fight militarily against its neighbors of the west. In 1082 it attacked the Viscount of Dax but undergoes severe a défaite.

He married towards 1060 his Gisela cousin, who was perhaps a girl of Bernard II Tumapaler, count d' Armagnac; this union was cancelled in 1074 pennies the injunction of the Pope Gregoire VII because of their bonds of consanguinity prohibited by the Church. In penitence, Centulle founded in Morlaàs an oratory depend on the Abbaye of Cluny. From this marriage were born:
  • a boy, Gaston IV, Viscount of Béarn (1090-1131)
