Central management of the interior information

The Central management of the interior information (DCRI) is new the Intelligence service ministry for the Interior French born from the fusion of the Direction of the monitoring of the territory and General informations which should be operational in beginning 2008.

History

Fusion was announced by the Minister of Interior Department Michele Alliot-Marie on September 13rd, 2007.

Bernard Squarcini, director of DST in 2007, will be probably named with the head of this organization.

Organization

Its seat will be in the building of the intelligence services, inaugurated in May 2007 with Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine).

It would be composed of 5.000 police officers, that is to say the totality of manpower of DST, and 80% of those of the RG.

The branch “races and plays” of the RG will be transferred to the Central management from the judicial police (DCPJ). As for the Police headquarter of Paris, it will preserve its own agents of the RG.

Missions

The missions of the DCRI are a meeting of the missions in the past held by DST and the RG:
  • the Against-espionage and the Against-interference
  • the counter-terrorism and the protection of the institutions and the principles founders of the Republic
  • the protection of the inheritance and the economic Intelligence
  • analysis and the synthesis of the social movements and the facts of company

Except for the analysis of the social movements, the missions of the DCRI will be classified " Secret Defense ".
