Central management of the Information system security

In France, the central management of the Information system security ( DCSSI ) is the interdepartmental organization official defining the Norme S of the Sécurité of the Information systems in particular the Norme S on the evaluation and the Certification of the Information systems.

Membership

The DCSSI is an organization attached to the Prime Minister and pertaining to the General secretary of national defense.

Role of the organization

In the field of the Information system security, the texts in force and practical accompanying their implementation result in centering the action taken by this direction on four main categories of functions:

  • the function of contribution to the interdepartmental definition and the expression of the Political Governmental as regards Information system security;

  • the function of Regulation which consists, in particular, to deliver the authorizations, approvals or electronic Certificats with the Tiers of confidence, envisaged by the texts, and to play the part of national authority of regulation as regards Information system security;
  • the operational function, in the form of services of services, in priority with the profit of the administration S and public agencies, to evaluate, know and make known the Vulnerability S and the Threat S, to help to prevent and to counter the attacks carried to the Information systems;
  • the function of center of reference and Scientific Expertise and Technical.
