Central department

The Central department (in Spanish: be Departamento Central ) is one of the 17 departments of the Paraguay. Its code ISO 3166-2 is PA-11.

Geography

Located at the south-west of the country, the department is bordering:
  • in north, of the department of President Hayes;
  • in the North-East, of the department of the Cordillera;
  • in the east and south-east, of the department of Paraguarí;
  • in the south, of the department of Ñeembucú;
  • in the west, in Argentinian, of the province of Formosa;
  • in the North-West, of Capital Distrito (town of Asunción).

Economy

More populated departments of the country, it is also industrialized the most.
