Central consonant

In Articulatory phonetics, a central consonant , or by preoccupation with a concision a central is a Consonne whose Mode of articulation requires for its realization the air flow by the center of the Bouche above the language.

Some examples of central consonants:

• the deaf velar Occlusive consonant K
• the voiced alveolar fricative Consonant Z
• the alveolar nasal Occlusive consonant voiced N
