The Central École of Marseilles is a school of engineers general practitioner located at Marseilles, in the middle of the Technopôle of Castle-Gombert. It was created in 2006, after the fusion of four schools founders (ENSPM, ENSSPICAM, ESM2, ESIM).
The Central School Marseilles belongs to the Intergroupe of the Central Schools.
History
The new Central School Marseilles, which saw its first promotion graduate at the end of the year 2006, has been the result of a process thought for several years in order to form with Marseilles an university of engineers.
In 2003, the School General practitioner of Engineers de Marseille (EGIM) was born thanks to the regrouping of the schools ENSPM, ENSSPICAM, ESM2, specialized respectively in Physique, Chimie and Mécanique. Joined in 2004 by ESIM, the EGIM became officially the Central School Marseilles on September 23rd, 2006.
It carries the heritage of more than one century of trainings of engineers in the city phocéenne. Since the creation of the School of engineers de Marseille (EIM) in 1891 to the creation of the EGIM in 2003, and finally the Central School Marseilles, the Schools did not have of cease to adapt to their time and, in particular, to gather.
The Central School Marseilles is thus equipped with a double capacity: on the one hand, research, thanks to the regroupings of the laboratories of the various ENSI, on the other hand, of the bonds privileged with the companies, a long time maintained by the Schools managed by the Chamber of commerce Marseilles.

The first year consists of varied courses of base joint, decorated General Options which allows a deepening in certain fields as well as Travaux of Laboratories aiming at into practice putting acquired knowledge, during experiments. The practice of the sport is an important component in the formation. This year is completed by a working training course in company during one month.
The second year takes again same unfolding, by reinforcing knowledge and by adding to it the Transverse Projet , which consists in forming groups of pupils having to meet needs for a company. The last two months are devoted to a training course having dominant managerial.
The third year consists of specialization in a field, thanks to the Disciplinary Parcours of Genius and with the Filières trade . There is in addition the possibility of carrying out this year in another Central École , or abroad, by making a Double-Diploma .
