Centimetre of water
The centimetre of water or cmH2O is a measuring unit of the Pression. It is used in Médecine to measure the Pression Veines (like that of the vena cava), of the Cerveau or the céphalo-rachidian Liquide. One also uses it for the pressures relating to breathing ett with the mechanical Ventilation. One can moreover meet it in the water delivery systems like the drains (pressure in mH2O).
Definition
It is defined as the pressure excercée by a column of 1cm of Eau to 4°C (temperature to which the Densité of water is maximum) under the conditions standards of terrestrial Gravité.
Conversion of the cmH2O into other units of pressure
-
1 cmH2O = 98,0638 Pascal S = 98,0638 X 10-5 bar
-
1 cmH2O = 0,7355 mm Hg
To convert this measurement into other units, the following table is often used:
- 1 MmHg = 1,36 cmH2O = 0,133 KPa = 0,0193 psi = 1,3332 mbar
