-----------------------------------------------------------------------> The Center of studies and political and social administrative research or CERAPS is a laboratory CNRS of Political science associated (Mixed Unit of Research) with the Université with right and political science of Lille 2.

Its current director is Frederic Sawicki, qualified schoolteacher of the universities in political science.

Fastening and objects of study

He is one of the laboratories constitutive of the Federative Institut of Research on the Industrial Economies (IFRESI).

He gathers researchers concerned with three principal disciplines: political science, public law and sociology. He counts 6 ITA (including 3 CNRS and 2 financed on projects ANR), 28 teacher-researchers mainly posts some with the Faculty of legal sciences, policies and social, with the Institut of political studies of Lille and to UFR STAPS, 7 researchers CNRS, 3 post-doctorands and forty doctorands, to financed two thirds. He constitutes most important laboratory CNRS of political science and public law to the north of Paris. Professor Frederic Sawicki ensures the direction of it since 1999.

The scientific activity of the CERAPS relates to the changes which affect the contemporary political order, and this at various levels:

it construction of supranational political spaces,

them reports/ratios of the citizens to the policy (participation, engagement, vote…)

them and legitimation forms of government of the democratic States,

them public institutions and political organizations (left, trade unions, ONG, associations, etc),

them development process and of imposition of the legal standards.

Research teams & topics

The scientific project of the Center is implemented by six teams which obtained a program extremely founded on fundamental questions of research which are articulated narrowly with the international scientific field:

it construction of a political space and legal European;

it territorialisation of the political action;

it structuring of the political offer: Political parties, elected officials and elections;

- Sociology of the collective mobilizations and engagements;

- Institutionalization and coding of sustainable development;

them new forms and practices of the democracy.

Given trainings & activities

The CERAPS is a laboratory of reception and formation: Right Masters and science public policy-action, organization of schools of summer, seminars doctoral. It is in particular the structure of support of Master of research Political science of the University Lille 2.

It is also a laboratory which regularly organizes scientific demonstrations, such as days of studies (on average 5 per annum) and conferences (on average 3 per annum) and which is very present on the international scene thanks in particular to its many institutional partnerships and the university co-operations which it maintains with foreign researchers.

As information, the last organized conferences related to the companies of mixed economy, the contemporary transformations of the militancy, the reform of the Code des Marches Publics, the public debate. Soon, it Co-will organize an international symposium on the institution of sustainable development (8 November 10th, 2007). To date, the CERAPS shelters three projects financed by the National agency of research on professional engagement and citizen of the French teachers (to dir. F. Sawicki), effects of the way of voting with two turns (to dir. A. Laurent) and trade-union formation (to dir. NR. Ethuin). In 2004, one of its enquiring, Virginia Guiraudon obtained the bronze medal of CNRS.
