Center puts
The Met Center (called Metropolitan Sports Center before) was a general sports room located at Bloomington, in the southern suburbs of Mineapolis, with the Minnesota.
It was the residence of the North Stars of Minnesota of LNH of 1967 with 1993, and of the Minnesota Muskies of ABA. Muskies played only one season, before moving with Miami. They were replaced by the Minnesota Pipers, which them also played one season. The Minnesota Strikers of MISL played the Football in room in the Met Center of 1984 with 1988. The arena could sit 15.000 people.
History
The North Stars of Minnesota played their first home match in the arena the October 21st 1967 against the Seals d' Oakland, with a null score of 3-3. During his the first 15 years, one knew it as the Metropolitan Sports Center ; a shorter name was adopted in 1982.The Met Center was demolished in 1994 after North Stars is moved with Dallas, Texas, becoming the Dallas Stars. Three attempts were made to undertake a controlled implosion of the building, but none was sufficient to destroy it. Consequently, the arena had to be demolished by using usual heavy equipment.
Several years after the arena was demolished, the property was useful for the extension of the Mall off America. In 2004, a store IKEA was open on the western end of the property, and new American Boulevard was deviated by the end is. The remainder of the site is designed to become off the site of the Evil America Phase II.
