Center Rome-Berlin-Tokyo

The Axe Rome-Berlin-Tokyo is the name of the alliance concluded between the Germany Nazi, the fascistic Italy and the Empire of Japan. This " Axe" result from the combination of the alliance of November 1936 between Berlin and Rome, of the Pacte anti-Comintern between Berlin and Tokyo proclaimed the same month and of the tripartite Pacte concluded in 1940 between the three states.

The term Axis or forces of the Axis indicates then the worldwide which fought against the Alliés during the Second world war.

Chronology

November 1st 1936: the Axis Rome-Berlin is proclaimed with Milan by Benito Mussolini.
November 25th, Pact anti-Comintern between Germany and Japan.
December 11th 1937, Italy adheres to the Pacte anti-Comintern.
May 22nd 1939: alliance between Berlin and Rome is reinforced by a military treaty: the Pact of Steel.
September 27th 1940: a tripartite Pacte is signed by Germany, Italy and the Empire of Japan.
November 1940: the Slovakia, the Hungary and the Romania join the Axis.
Mars 1941: the Bulgaria and the Yugoslavia become members about it.
March 27th 1941: a coup d'etat of Pierre II of Yugoslavia involves the cancellation of the pact binding Yugoslavia to the Axis and the country becomes again neutral. April 6th, the country is invaded by the troops of the Axis and the State Oustachi, which succeeds to him in Croatia, joined the Axis on June 15th, 1941.

After the Russo-Finnish War, the Finland concludes an economic cooperation agreement and soldier with Germany on October 1st 1940, but does not sign the tripartite pact.
