Center Michoud assembly
The center of assembly Michoud is a site of manufacture and assembly of NASA, located at the east of the Orleans News in Louisiana with the the United States.
History
This Usine was built in 1940 and produced planes during the Second world war then tanks during the Guerre of Korea
It passed under control of NASA in 1961. It in particular was useful for manufacture of the second stage of the rocket Saturn V during the Programme Apollo.
It is today used for the construction of the tanks external of the American Space shuttle.
The site makes 3,4 km ². The principal building is one of the largest halls of assembly in the world (surface under roof of 174.000 m ²).
