Centennials of Calgary
The Centennials of Calgary was a team of Hockey based with Calgary in the Alberta which existed of 1966 to 1977.
History
The team started under the name of Buffaloes into 1966 before changing name into 1967. The team had very good results during the regular season at the end of the Sixties, beginning of the year 70 but unfortunately the results in eliminatory Séries did not follow. Thus, the team gains the title of Western division into 1970,1971 and 1974 but will have reached only once the finale of the series, in 1974, but they lost against the Pats of Regina. In 1971, the team also gains the championship over the season. After the season 1976-77, Centennials are sold and move with Billings in the Montana and are, for one season, the Bighorns de Billings. Today the frankness always exists but under the name of Americans of Tri-City.
The inhabitants of Calgary did not have to have patience a long time before re-examining a team of hockey since, immediately after the departure of Centennials, the Monarchs de Winnipeg move in and become the Wranglers of Calgary.
