Centenier
The centenier is an elective function of the Bailliage of Jersey. The centeniers are elected at the time a public election in their Paroisse. In addition to the maintenance of law and order, the centenier remains the only officer authorized with Jersey to accuse and subject the contraveners to guarantee. The centenier governs investigations of the parish and is used as prosecutor before the Court of the Magistrates of Jersey.
