Cements of Obourg
The company of the Ciments of Obourg is an old company Belgian cimentière today subsidiary of the group Suisse Holcim.
History of the cement factory
At the beginning of the 20th century are born Cements from Origny-Holy-Benoite, with Origny-Holy-Benoite (France) and Cements of Obourg, with Obourg (Belgium). These areas have the raw materials as well as fuels necessary to the cimentière production.
1908: Creation of Artificial Cements Portland cement of Origny-Holy-Benoite
1911: Formation of the company Artificial Cements of and in Obourg
1925: SA Cements of Obourg enters the Swiss group Holderbank
1960: Creation of Obourg Concrete
1961: Fusion of Cements of Origny-Holy-Benoite and establishments A. Letellier. Transfer of the seat in Paris
1967: Creation of Interbéton
1970: Fusion between Cements of Origny and the Cimentière company Desvroise
1972: Creation of Orsa Concretes by Cements of Origny
1973: Fusion of Cements of Origny Desvroise with cements of Haut-Rhin. The company takes Cement the name of Origny and Holderbank enters the capital
1986: Creation of SA Cobex, Calcareous Obourg and Cements of Haccourt
1987: Tender offer on SA Career of Porphyry of Quenast and takeover of 50% of SA Gralex. Constitution of SA Scoribel.
1989: Purchases by Cements of Obourg of SA Hellings
1990: Acquisition of a holding of 50% in the group Stadsbader (Cantillana, Stadromix, Statrans)

Acquisition of the Dutch group Rook
- Creation of company SA Obourg Aggregates and modification of company name Cements D `Obourg in SA Obourg (Holding company)
- Participation of the Holderbank group carried in 97,5% in the capital of Obourg
- Fusion of Cements of Origny with Cements of Champagnole
- Creation by Cements D `Origny d' Orsa Aggregates.
- Ciments D `Origny becomes Origny SA.
1993: Acquisition of a holding of 50% via the Rook group in Van Den Broucke Concrete
1994: The Origny group acquires Cedest and becomes Origny
1998: Bringing together between Origny and Obourg by the creation of Obourg-Origny
Creation of company SCT (Company of the Careers of Tournaisis) between Obourg and CCB.
2000: Acquisition of the company Boss in Zoon in the Netherlands
2001: Integration of the mortars activity at 100%.
February 25th 2002: The group becomes Holcim France the Benelux countries. The whole of the subsidiary companies adopts this new identity: Holcim Cements, Holcim Concretes, Holcim Aggregates, Holcim Mortars.
