Celine Hervieux-Payette
honourable the Celine Hervieux-Payette , C.P., LL.B (born the April 22nd 1941) is a political woman Canadian born with the Assumption with the Quebec. It sits at the Sénat of Canada.
In the Years 1970, Hervieux-Payette was a political adviser with the Québécois government of Robert Bourassa. She also worked as a police chief of the school commission the Keeper and director in Public relations with Steinberg Inc, a company of grocers and department stores.
Hervieux-Payette is initially elected with the House of Commons of Canada to the Canadian federal election of 1979 as a liberal deputy of Mercier in Quebec. Re-elected in 1980, it becomes the parliamentary Secrétaire Solicitor General of Canada.
In 1983, Pierre Trudeau names it with the Cabinet of Canada as a Minister of state in the physical condition and the sports. It is then minister of state with the youth from January to June 1984.
John Turner does not name it with the cabinet in June 1984. Candidate with the election of 1984, it is however demolished. She returns to the Private sector and becomes vice-president of the Groupe SNC, a company in Génie and Fabrication, of 1985 with 1989.
Of 1991 with 1995, it is vice-president in lawful and legal businesses for Fonorola, a company of Télécommunications. Since 1995, it is adviser for Fasken Martineau DuMoulin.
Hervieux-Payette tried to return to the House of Commons of Canada to the elections of 1988 and 1993, but it failed these two occasions. In 1995, it was allocated to the Parliament when it was named with the Canadian Sénat by Jean Chrétien. She will have obligatorily to leave the Senate in 2016 when she reaches 75 years the maximum age.
In March 2006, it starts a controversy crûment by criticizing the foreign Politics American.
In January 2007, it is named by Stephan Dion at the post of Leader of the opposition to the Senate. In October, it replaces Marcel Proulx as Québécois lieutenant of the party.
In February 2007, it retorts with Allemande criticizing hunting for the seals in a letter written for the Canadian government that hunting for the club “is supervised planet”, by veterinary surgeons, members of the Canadian government and international observatories. “This is more than what no forever made European slaughter-house”, writes it in its counterpart obtained by the Duty .
