Celegorm

Celegorm is a character of the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Third wire of Fëanor and Nerdanel, Celegorm was born in Valinor. His/her father named extremely it Turkafinwë “, powerful Finwë”, and his/her mother called it Tyelkormo , in reference to her impetuous temperament. It was called the Beautiful ( to fair ). It was a large hunter, and Oromë gave him the dog Huan.

It lent the Oath of Fëanor and followed his father in exile. In Beleriand, it settled with his brother Curufin in the named area Himlad, of which they were driven out after the battle of Dagor Bragollach. The two brothers fled with Nargothrond where their influence increased slowly with the detriment of that of Finrod, the legitimate king. When this one announced that it would help Beren in its search of the Silmaril, Celegorm and Curufin were drawn up against him and turned over the population of the underground city against him. Finrod gave up its crown with Orodreth and left the city with Beren and ten faithful. When, later, Lúthien managed to escape from Doriath to the continuation of Beren which she liked, she fell on Curufin and Celegorm, and this last fell in love with her at once. They imprisoned it in Nargothrond, but she escaped thanks to complicity from Huan.

When the news of died of Finrod reached Nargothrond, the Elfe S of the city were turned against wire of Fëanor, and Orodreth could finally reign truly. It drove out the two brothers of Nargothrond, and those, travelling towards the east, again crossed the way of Beren and Lúthien. They attacked them, but Huan definitively gave up its former Master and the two wire of Fëanor had to flee.

Thereafter, Celegorm lived in the wandering, and he perishes with the hand of Dior when the wire of Fëanor attacked Doriath.
