Cedex

The Cedex (Acronym of mail of company with exceptional distribution ) is a service of the French Poste which makes it possible to distribute the Courrier Entreprise S in priority. The subscribers with this service generally have a volume of important mail or conditions of special distributions.

The “wording CEDEX” Ex: 12101 MILLAU CEDEX are composed of 5 digits.

This code can be followed by an identification number when there are several Cedex Bureaux in same a Agglomération. In the same way, in the cities having several district S, the Cedex code is followed of that of the district. (ex CEDEX 11)

That is also useful for the companies which are established with the periphery of the big cities and which wish that their address makes think that they are located in the city intramurally .

When the Cedex is not followed of a figure, that is not a “short cut” for Cedex 1. That can be another figure.

The standard AFNOR XP Z10-011 of May 1997 for the drafting of the addresses requires that the last line be written in capital letters. However it is precisely on the last line, after the name of the common , that the mention of the Cedex must be made out if necessary. It is thus recommended to write “CEDEX”.
