Cedar Not

Cedar Point is a Parc with topics located at Sandusky in the Ohio, with the the United States, on a peninsula of the Lac Érié. It holds several records, of which that of the park having the most attractions, 69 different horse-gears. Among them, 17 Russian Montagnes are of which the Top Thrill Dragster , which beat several records (height, speed,…)

The park also has a long sand beach white and two watery parks (Soak City and Castaway Bay), two marinas, several hotels and Challenge Park (comprising attractions like miniature kartings, a Mini golf,…)

The park was elected “Better amusement park in the world” by Amusement Today nine years of continuation.

History

In the Years 1860, during the civil war, the ground at the end of the peninsula was used as artillery shelter. When the war was finished, Cedar Point took again its role of surface of picnic, and the initial park was built in 1870. It is today the second American park oldest after Lake Compounce.

The park must much with the businessman George Arthur Boeckling which, starting from 1899, was with the head of the park. It brought the first attractions, installations of the park, the first hotels (of which the Hotel Breakers which opened in 1905 and which functions always today. It was withdrawn in 1931 and died a few months later.

Cedar Point continued to develop with the passing of years, adding new attractions regularly. In 1929, the cyclone is built by the legendary originator Harry Traver (attraction now disappeared). Edouard Smith was the leading one of Cedar Point for the most difficult periods of the park. In the Years 1950, the two business men George Roose and Emile Legros repurchased the park. It is with them that one owes in particular the first marina.

During the 50 following years, the park has to continue to develop with sharp pace, the time of the records came. Each course of Russian Montagnes is single and tends to beat the records established in the world.

Cedar Creek Mine Wrinkle opens in 1969, it is one of the first " run-away mine train" and also one of very first the Russian Mountains out of metal. Innovation 2007: Maverick

Announced the September 7th 2006, Cedar Point opened its 17th roller coaster, Maverick , the May 26th 2007. Built by IntaRide, an American division of Intamin AG.
