The family of the Cecropiaceae is a family of plants Dicotylédone S. According to Watson & Dallwitz it includes/understands 275 Espèce S into 6 kind S:
- Cecropia, Coussapoa, Myrianthus, Musanga, Poikilospermum, Pourouma ( Pourouma cecropiaefolia - Cucura).
They are trees, shrubs or lianas (some with latex) of the subtropics to tropical of America.
The phylogenetic classification APG II (2003) included the plants of this family in that of the Urticaceae and thus locates it in the Rosales .
