Cecile Corbel

Cécile Corbel is a harpist and French singer, born in Brittany.

Cecile was born in Brittany, in Finistere, all in the West of Europe. Little girl, it follows her parents marionnettists on the roads and plays of the guitar but it is teenager whom it discovers and learns the Celtic toothing-stone at Elisa Vellia. It goes up to Paris at 18 years for studies of archeology and dream of music. It connects tens of concerts in the coffees and advertizings of the capital and product alone its album SongBook1 which very quickly will be located and distributed by the Celtic label Keltia music (which diffuses also Sinead O' Connor, Loreena McKennit,…)

Been useful by a voice attaching to the Kate Bush and a single play to the toothing-stone, its songs mix old poems and personal compositions, Celtic musics and more Mediterranean melodies. On the prestigious way elder ones like Alan Stivell, the young type-setter interprets Breton made today divide his universe “pop folk Celtic” with his musicians in France and in the whole world.

Noticed at the time of its concerts, it recently occurred in first part of Laurent Voulzy at the time of three concerts in Olympia in May 2007. One also finds it in first part of great names of the world music : Alan Stivell, Lunasa, Helene Flaherty, Ousmane Touré, or the harpist baroque Ariana Savall, the girl of Jordi Savall. Many rooms or festivals accommodated it these last years and she cordially was also applauded abroad, with her round Australia and Tasmanie 2006 in French festival of Adelaide with Yann Tiersen and Matmatah, in Czech republic, England (Festival of Kinnersley), a round the USA 2002 and 2003 Louisiana, Texas… In 2005 it was prize winner of the price “Paris Young talents”.

In 2007 she traverses the roads of France, of Estonia, of Wales, of Germany and the Netherlands. She is also with the poster of principal make Celtic from the summer and occurs in her native Brittany in July and August for a series in 12 concerts.
