Cecile Chaminade
Cécile Louise Stéphanie Chaminade is a Compositrice and French Pianiste born with Paris the August 8th 1857 and deceased with Monte Carlo the April 13rd 1944.
Biography
It reveals very young person musical gifts that its family hastens to cultivate. She works into private with Lecouppey, Auguste Savard, and Martin-Pierre Marsick. She studies with Benjamin Godard the composition. She has the encouragements of Camille Saint-Saëns, Emmanuel Chabrier and Georges Bizet to continue her career.After a shy person beginning with the presentation of sound Trio n° 1 for violin, violoncello and piano, opus 11 (1880), it presents, in 1888, three symphonic partitions: the ballet Callirhoë, opus 37 in Marseilles, a Concerstück for piano and orchestra, opus 40 (currently out of CD VoxBox CDX 5110 - French Piano Concertos - 1980) and a dramatic symphony with choruses entitled Amazones, opus 26 in Antwerp.
Its production is important and one can quote the following works: a Continuation of orchestra (1881), an Op3era Comique Sévillane opus 10 (1882), a Trio n° 2 for violin, violoncello and piano, opus 34 (1887) and on ordering of the academy a Concertino for flute and orchestra, opus 107 its last symphonic work.
Its work also comprises 200 parts for romantic piano of style with, in particular, a Sonate in minor C for piano, opus 21 ; Symphonic Study, opus 28 ; Six Studies in concert, opus 35 (Scherzo, Fall, Impromptu…) ; Sylvains, opus 60 ; Arabesque, opus 61 ; Six Lovesongs without words, opus 76 (Meditation, Idylle…) ; melody Study, opus 118 ; Fishing of night, opus 127 (N°4 of the Provençaux Poems) ; Lovesong, opus 137 ; With the devastated country, opus 155 ; Night, opus 165 etc
It composes also approximately 150 melodies in the style of living room.
It begins in the United States by interpreting its splendid Concerstück with the Orchestre from Philadelphia on November 7th, 1908.
It was a concert performer appreciated particularly in France and England.
