Cecil Mallaby Firth

Cecil Mallaby Firth (1878-1931) is a Egyptologist of origin Britannique.

Firth belonged to the first archeologists in Nubie of 1907 to 1911, then it started to explore the complex Pyramide with degrees of Djéser to Saqqarah where, in 1924, it discovers the Serdab Pharaon containing his statue, that it makes transport to the museum of Cairo.

Cecil Firth worked in collaboration with James Edward Quibell and accommodated Jean-Philippe Lauer on his arrival on the site in 1926.

It was named inspector of the area of Saqqarah in 1927 by the service of antiquities.

In 1928 and 1929, Firth begins the release of the funerary complex of Ouserkaf, the first king of, like that of a small pyramid located just at the south, allotted to his wife, the queen Néferhétepès.
