Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh

Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh , (born the February 12th 1911 with Bray (County of Wicklow), deceased the March 17th 1978), politician Irish, he was the fifth president of Ireland of the December 19th 1974 with the October 22nd 1976.

He studies the Celtic Langue in University College of Dublin and the right to King' S Inn.

He is public prosecutor of 1946 with 1958, then judge at the Supreme court. In 1961, he becomes president of the Supreme court then assumes the Irish judging function with the European Cour of Justice.

Elected official chair on December 19th, 1974 unanimously, it resigned 18 months later because of an insulting remark of the Minister for Defense Paddy Donegan about the constitutionality of a law. The law was considered to be in conformity with the constitution by the Supreme court. The Fianna Fail deposited a motion of censure against the minister who was pushed back by the Whetstone. Under these conditions, Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh renonça with its function and died two years later.
