Cayes of the Belize

The Cayes of the Belize (in English Cayes off Belize ) are a whole of Cayes (coral islands) located at broad of the Belize, in the Caribbean Sea.

It is the second larger reef coral after that of the Grande barrier of coral in Australia.

Geography

The cayes of the Belize are made up of the cayes Ambergris, Caulker, Hicks, Glover, Lighthouse, Mauger, South Water, Saint George and Turneffe and belong to Belize District and Corozal District. It is the principal tourist destination of the Belize in term of frequentation. The Récif Glover shelters a marine reserve.

Philately

In 1984 and 1985, Cayes of the Belize emitted some stamps for submission to the philatelists. These stamps were not recognized by the Belize and the UPU but some succeeded in circulating, generally by kindness.
