Cavernous body
The body of the Rod or penis is made up of body érectiles, allowing the erection: two cavernous bodies and a spongy body.

the cavernous body ( will corpora cavernosa penis ), cylindrical, two, dorsolatéraux, located side by side on the back of the rod.
- the spongy Body ( corpus spongiosum penis ), single, central, located in a depression formed at the lower part of the cavernous bodies, on the belly of the rod. He is traversed, over his length, by the Urètre and ends in a bulge which constitutes the matter of the nipple. The spongy bodies are located below the cavernous bodies.
The two cavernous bodies péniens are surrounded by a thick fibrous envelope called Albuginée. Its fibers meet and form on the level médial a perforated partition which makes it possible these bodies to function like a unit.
The fabric of the cavernous bodies spongy and is made of a network of inter-connected cavernous spaces, called spaces gaps.
