Cave Holy-Anne
Cave Saint-Anne of Tilff.
The Porch measurement 4 to 5 meters height, on 10 broad and about fifteen meters of depth. It gives access to the Cave Holy-Anne, great classic of the Spéléologie and one of the most attended Wallonia. It is in March 1837, after a Tir of mine that workmen Carrier S reflect up to date the entry of the Grotte of Tilff. The cavity with a total development of + 1542 meters for a 35 meters depth, it presents 4 superimposed stages and is traversed by a pretty river. The entry is barred of a door provided with a lock “UBS” (Belgian Union of Speleology).
In 1962, Etienne Lemaire of the GAS discovered the higher network of the cave, while crossing celebrates it “Letter-box”. Etienne, definitively left us in December 2004.
Declared cave-school by the U.B.S. (Belgian Union of Speleology), the cave Saint-Anne is regularly visited by groups of young people who framed by Spéléologue S confirmed devote themselves to an initiation with this activity. ADEPS as of many clubs of spéléo organize initiations there.
The cave is in bottom of a rock bearing the same name and being able to be used for techniques of Spéléo-alpine or Escalade.
