Cavatine

A cavatine is a vocal part for soloist in an opera. One of most known is Casta diva . She is extracted from the opera Norma created by Bellini in 1831 with the Scala of Milan. Most famous interpretation is that of Maria Callas.

Another cavatine famous is drawn from the Marriages of Figaro of Mozart: it is the air “the Ho perduta” (I lost it) sung by Barberine (in Italian Barbarina). She is included in the Witnesses of Andre Techine (2007).
