Causses

The Causses (in Occitan los Causses ) form a whole of plates limestones (from 700 to 1.200 m) in the Massif Central, delimited in the North-West by the mounts of the the Limousin and the Périgord, and in the east by the Aubrac and the the Cevennes.

The North-West in south-east, one finds:

• the Red Causse (Aveyron)
• the causse or plate of the Larzac (Aveyron)

Several sites of causses are included in the Réseau Natura 2000.
