Cauldron II: The Pumpkin Strikes Back

Cauldron II: The Pumpkin Strikes Back is a Video game of arcade and platform left in 1986 and functions on Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. Developed by The Ramjam Corporation and published by De luxe hotel Software, the play was conceived by Steve Brown and Richard Leinfellner.

Gameplay

The play takes again the same principle as Cauldron by reversing the roles. the player incarnates this time pumpkin and it must destroy the witch. The action occurs in the castle from the witch where the player must collect eight magic objects to be able to destroy the witch. The objects to be recovered are the following: an axe, a shield, a cut, scissors, a crown, a black book, a pot and a wick of hair of the witch.

The player has 6 lives to finish the play. A life corresponds to 100% of magic energy. When the pumpkin touches an enemy, this one is destroyed but the player loses energy. When energy falls to 0% the pumpkin bursts and a life is lost. One can also draw from the magic projectiles to kill the enemies, that costs 1% of energy.

In addition to the enemies, the player must avoid certain obstacles mortals for pumpkin. This one should not thus fall into water, touch a flame, fall on a pointed object. What is not obvious forcing because one can direct pumpkin only on the right or on the left by making it rebound and by calculating the intensity of this rebound.
