Caucasian

The term designates the inhabitants of the Caucasus, but more specifically those speaking a Caucasian Langue.

The Caucasian adjective constitutes a meaning Politiquement correct E to classify the individuals with clear skin (Leucoderme S) of the Mankind.

Employment

Certain countries use the word as attenuated meaning of this classification, such as for example, the the United States. This expression also avoids ambiguity that there could be about the Hispanique S in the case of the word " blanc". It should be noted that in the United States, the " race" is a criterion usable in the statistics and the surveys.

The practice is however former, since the Littré of 1863 indicated “ Caucasian Race, name given to the white human race, presumedly resulting from the Caucasus and the surroundings ”.
