Catholic Action
the catholic Action is the overall name of the movements created by the Catholic church at the 20th century within the framework of the social Catholicisme bound for precise categories of the company.
The objective of the catholic Action is double:
-
to constitute new tools to christianize or maintain the faith these mediums.
- to bring in the latter the humanistic and social doctrines of the Church.
the catholic Action is also the name of a Canadian daily newspaper of the catholic Action (or catholic Social action) of the Quebec.
Main movements of catholic Action
In Italy, the Italian catholic Action (1922) is organized by Pie X within four branches (men, women, young men, young girls) which will give rise to the general catholic Action.
In France, the catholic Association of French youth (ACJF) is created in 1886 by Albert de Mun. Then the ACJF is divided into specialized trainings: JOC, JAC, JEC, JMC, JIC. Each one of these formations taking its autonomy, the ACJF dissolves in 1956.

Christian working Youth (JOC) created by a young Belgian priest, the Abbot Cardijn in Belgium (1925) then in France (1927).
- Christian agricultural Youth (JAC) created in 1929.
- Youth Christian coed (JEC) created in 1930.
- catholic maritime Youth (JMC) created in 1934.
- Christian independent Youth (JIC) created in 1935.
- Hearts valiant valiant-Hearts (1936), which will become in 1956 the catholic Action of the children (ACE).
- Hearths of charity, bound for the couples, inspired by Marthe Robin (1936)
- the Focolari launched by the Italian Chiara Lubich (1944),
- Working Catholic Action (ACO) created in France in 1950
- International Christian Working Youth (International JOC) created in 1957

- To live together the Gospel Today ( VEA ) Movement of General Catholic Action (1975) mixed Movement resulting from the ACGH
In 1938, Pie Xl created a central office for the catholic Action. From 1950, forty movements organize within the conference of the catholic International organizations (OIC).
Jean XXIII creates a preparatory commission on the Apostolat of laic (1960).
