Catherine de Brandebourg
Catherine de Brandebourg princess of Transylvania of 1629 with 1630.
It is born the May 28th 1604, of Jean Sigismond de Hohenzollern, voter of Brandebourg, and Anne of Prussia. She marries the March 2nd 1626 Gabriel II Bethlen, prince de Transylvanie, who makes it elect like successeuse as of June 1626.
After the death of the prince the November 25th 1629, it in vain tries to be essential during one year on the throne while being pressed on its favorite Istvan Csaky and seeks to make pass the Principauté under the sceptre of Ferdinand II. It must finally give up the September 21st 1630. Among the two candidates with the throne approved by the Sublimates Door, it chooses to replace it Georges Ier Rakoczy by hatred of sound beautiful brother Etienne III Bethlem.
The election of the new prince Georges Ier Rákóczy took place on February 1st 1630.
Catherine de Hohenzollern withdrew herself in Germany where she married in 1638 François Charles of Saxony-Lauenbourg. She died the August 27th 1649.
