Catherine Zeta-Jones (born the September 25th 1969) is a British actress, originating in the Wales.

Born with Swansea, of a Welsh father and a mother of Irish origin, it has two brothers. In its youth it undergoes a Trachéotomie which leaves him a scar. She is married with the actor Michael Douglas with whom she has two children (Dylan Michael Douglas and Carys Zeta Douglas). For its name of scene, she added to her name (Jones) the nickname of her grandmother (Zeta).

She appears in 1987 in Forty-Second Street where its allied exotic appearance with its capacities of song and dance seem to promise brilliant future to him. She begins with the cinema in the role from Shéhérazade in the 1001 nights (1990), French film of Philippe de Broca at the sides of the famous French actors Gerard Jugnot and Thierry Lhermitte thanks to her Eastern charm. But it is in 1991, in an adaptation of The Darling Buds off May (H.E. Packsaddlled), that it is made a name.

After several supporting roles, it is located by Steven Spielberg in a Televised series recalling the shipwreck of the Titanic in 1996. At this point in time it connects with the cinema in film of Martin Campbell: the Mask of Zorro left in 1998, with Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins for partners. This film definitively launches its career in films to large budget.
