Catherine Ribeiro

Catherine Ribeiro is an actress and French singer born in 1941 with Lyon, of Portuguese origin . Humanistic, militant, madly éprise of freedom, one often called it in the press the " passionaria rouge" or the " large priestess of the song française". It starts to sing in the Années 1960. In the Years 1970, it creates the group the Alps with Patrice Moullet. It settled in the the Ardennes.

Biography

It is first of all actress and turns inter alia with Jean-Luc Godard. On the turning of the film the Police officers , it meets Patrice Moullet which holds the main role.

In 1968, it launches out in the song with the first musical group created by Patrice Moullet: the group (2a) . In 1970, they found the group the Alps , with which they are essential the same year on the festival of Aix-en-Provence. Patrice Moullet will ensure the composition and the musical direction of the whole of the albums carrying the initials the Alps .

The period Catherine Ribeiro + the Alps will reach her culminating point in 1980 after nine albums 33 turns at Philips and more than 500 concerts in more the big rooms or festivals in France (Olympia, Bobino, Salle Wagram, Théâtre of the City, room of the Mutualité, Fête of Humanity, etc) and throughout the world (Cathedral of Brussels, Zagreb, Cuba, Algiers, Barcelona, etc).

In 2005, after three years of preparation, it gives with Francis Campello, musician of the Alps , and its group, a concert made up of the large Ribeiro-Alps titles of the years 1970 and new titles made up between 2002 and 2004 per Patrice Moullet on the last texts of Catherine.

Envisaged for on November 16th, 2007, the return of Catherine Ribeiro on a large Parisian scene, the Bataclan (Paris) with the musicians Gilles Thémelin (Keyboards), Christophe Bourumeau (Guitar), Luc Heller (Battery), Francis Campello (Low Guitar), Jean-Yves Lozac' H (Pedal Steel Guitar), is deferred to the Friday, January 11, 2008 (same room, even hour). A Live double should leave on this date at Universal, this concert lies within the scope of a French round.
