Catherine Belkhodja

Catherine Belkhodja is a Artiste French and Algerian, actress and director.

Biography

Born on April 15th 1955 with Paris from a father Algeria N, kabyle, and of a French mother . With Algiers, where it resided opposite the Large Post office, it achieves its secondary studies, writes its first news and starts to study the theater, the music and the Art schools. It takes its first steps with the cinema and decides to go to Paris to continue studies of Architecture, of Philosophie, Urbanisme and Ethnologie of the the Maghreb.

Laid off philosophy, it first of all earns its living in the State education and multiplies employment. Then its diploma of Architect out of pocket, it specializes in architecture Bioclimatique and becomes town planner with the Préfecture of Paris. It continues its research in solar architecture in Belgium, and leaves in Egypt to study the ground architecture with Hassan Fathy after obtaining a DEA of Esthetics under the direction of Olivier Revault d' Allonnes with the Sorbonne. It publishes its first articles in the newspapers the Savage and Without borders and writes its first scenario.

Television with the conceptual art while passing through architecture, journalism or philosophy, Catherine Belkhodja has a wide pallet what is called. An eclectic course

Asia

Its passion for the Asia encourages it to accomplish many voyages to the Japan, in China, Burma, with the Vietnam, the Kampuchea, in Thailand, with the Laos, in Malaysia, South Korea, with the Maldives, in India or Indonesia, with the Sri Lanka, Singapore, HongKong (China), with Taiwan or Macao (China) Co-to found a new specialized magazine on Asia from which it becomes international reporter. It gives courses of cinema to the Lebanon and visits then the Central Asia (Ouzbékistan, the Tadjikistan after having discovered the Turkey then the Russia. She collaborates then in other magazines of tourism, Gastronomie or voyages, while dealing with her house of Production and “edition Karedas”. Thereafter, its community activities also involve it in Africa: Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, South Africa.

The Writing

Catherine Belkhodja now centres her activities around the writing and regularly publishes her texts in literary reviews like Alter texto , Hakaî , Poete , Carquois , the Books of Poetry , Gong .

She also has just launched to Karedas editions the collection kaîseki which is dedicated to the haïku. To inaugurate this collection, it called upon a Canadian Haïdjin: Yves Brillon, prize winner of the Grand Prix Winter 2005 and the Grand Prix Vaguenesses 2006 with the International Big competition of haîkus organized by Marco Polo magazine at the House of the Culture from Japan in Paris. It currently animates a Atelier of writing of haîkus on the site of “Psychologies magazine”, in which it presented an initiation to the haiku.

This Contest, created in 2005, premium each year best authors of Haïku, coming from ten countries.

The handing-over of the prices takes place for the first time at the time of a ceremony at the House from Japan in Paris. May 18th, 2006, under the high patronage of the Embassy of Japan with Paris. The handing-over of the prices of the 2nd International Big competition Marco Polo of haîkus took place on November 25th, 2005 at midday with the cultural center free-Japanese with Paris with a saké aperitif and a Japanese dresser. The third Contest, took place within the framework of the Spring of the poets and had as a subject: love. The handing-over of the prices took place in the Tenri center on May 4th, 2007 with 18:00. Catherine also takes part in spectacles in concerts-haiku in Japan with Haikiste Madoka Mayusami and the pianist Akemi Suetaka.
