Cathedral of the Immaculate-Design of Three-Rivers

The Cathédrale of the Immaculate-Design of Three-Rivers is the Church mother of the Diocèse of Three-Rivers in Canada since the 19th century.

The parish of the Immaculate-Design-of-the-Holy-Virgin also includes/understands in addition to the cathedral, the churches (or local communities) of Our-Lady-of-Seven-Joys, Saint-Philippe, Saint-François d' Assise and Holy-Cecile.

History

The first mass having been given in 1616, Three-Rivers was set up in Paroisse on October 30th 1678. It will take up duty only in 1692. Thus a 27 meters length church by 8 meters of width is undertaken by François Boivin, master carpenter.
