Cathedral of Turku

The cathedral of Turku is a cathedral evangelic Lutheran located at Turku, the old capital of the Finland. It is the seat of the Archidiocèse of Turku. The cathedral is located in the center of the city, close to the river Will have. It is largest of the churches evangelic Lutherans of Finland, and one of the historical constructions most remarkable of Finland.

The church was built at the origin entirely in Bois during the end of the 13th century, and was devoted like principal cathedral of Finland in 1300, seat of the diocese of Turku. It was increased in a remarkable way during the 14th century and 15th century, by using mainly stone like construction material. The church was seriously damaged during the large fire of Turku in 1827, and of this fact largely altered and was increased.
