Cathedral Saint-Saver of Ispahan
The Cathedral Vank , more known under the name of Cathedral Saint-Saver of Ispahan , is the most visited cathedral of Ispahan. Vank means Armenian monastery in . It is located in the Armenian district of Ispahan, called Nouvelle Djoulfa.
The Cathedral shelters today a museum dedicated to the history of the Armenian of the Nouvelle Djoulfa, an old printing works, as well as a large library of manuscript Armenians (700).
Seen street, the Cathedral has the same aspect as a mosque if it is not the cross at the top of the dome. The interior is covered with paintings telling legendary martyrdom of saint Gregoire the Illuminator, founder of the Armenian Church. Beside the church a museum of Armenian art is, with a memorial of the Armenian genocide.
