Cathedral Saint-François-of-Dirty of Chambéry

The cathedral Saint-François-of-Dirty is the Cathédrale of the city Chambéry, in Savoy.

Its construction goes back to the 15th century on the Métropole place for the order of Franciscains. It became cathedral only in 1779 at the time of the creation of the Évêché of Chambéry.

It shelters the vastest whole of painting in Trompe the eye of Europe (close to 6000m ²), as well as an ivory diptych of the 12th century of Byzantine inspiration.

Its site is today in the old city of Chambéry, halfway between the Place St-Leger and the street of Cross-in Or .
