Cathedral Saint-Charles-in-Borromé Saint-Etienne

the cathedral Saint-Charles ( Cathedral Saint-Charles-In-Borromé Saint-Etienne ) is a catholic cathedral in the town of Saint-Etienne.

It is the seat of the Diocèse of Saint-Etienne since the creation of the diocese on December 26th, 1970. The church, is devoted to Charles Borromée, It was built between 1912 and 1923 in a model neogothic primitive, on a plan of a Latin cross with the transept and the nave on the slope occidental.
the building makes 80 meters of length, 30 meters broad and 17 mètresde high. The part of the chorus goes back to 1930.
In the beginning the plans of the building were excessively ambitious, and the cathedral remains not finished. It was expected that there should be three more bells and a dome, without counting that quantities of external decoration and currently missing intern.
